Yesterday, like everyday when I woke up the last time (I wake up a million times a night to go to the bathroom) I weighed myself - the number was lower than I thought it should be so I turned and looked at the mirror. It showed me what I expected, too much of me!
My first thought was that hubster had tinkered with my scale - he did NOT appreciate my accusation. I continued through my day - my therapist asked my weight, I told him I didn't know that I think hubs messed with my scale. We went through the whole story he too looked at me like I was nuts.
A friend told me I looked thinner
This is not a source of pride -- I can't believe them. My head shows me something different, how am I suppose to believe something I can't see or feel? Isn't the typical argument "I saw it with my own eyes" so why don't my eyes count?

Wordy Wednesday - barely
Some of my favorite draw somes of the last couple weeks. I think the reason that I like draw something so much is
A- its not competitive
B- I can be interactive with out having to actually interact with any one
C- its hella fun!
These are all things I've drawn other than the asl which was my niece and really... I had to snap the pic to send to my (deaf) friend to see what it was!
+++do you play drawsome?+++

Friday dun Sunday
From the lovely folks over at f.riday5.com
What was the last thing you took out of your microwave oven?
Water for my new favorite tea (cheap) Lipton ginger herbal infusion - and seriously I like it as much any tea shop tea out there!
What was the last thing you took out of the washing machine?
A rug that I want to give away but wanted to be sure it was clean first
What was the last thing you took out of the trunk of your automobile?
Ummm, how's about EVERYTHING seeing as I got a new car Friday (please cheer)
What was the last thing you took out of your mouth?
Floss, I floss a lot - my friend tells me I'm the only person a dentist has told to floss less. Hey it's part of my OCD so leave it
What was the last thing you took out of an envelope?
Probably a damn bill :-(
Thanks for participating, and have a lovely weekend!

Wordy Wednesday I am still married
So as I mentioned in my last post I had a friend stay over for a couple nights while she and her husband worked through an argument. Hubster and I commented on how the first year of marriage is a bitch... Even though we had lived together beforehand something about the official ness of it all made it feel like a prison sentence with no chance of parole (ok so I'm overly dramatic bit you get my point). I think how we survived it was the apology glass. The what you say? Well here is the story...
My grandmother had given my sister a glass and a poem when my sister got married. My grandmother (actually both and my grandfathers but I'm not bitter) passed away before my wedding. My sister gave me a copy of the poem and my own glass for my shower, she said it was from her and Mimi.
So I told my (newly married) friend about this and she loved it. I thought you might too :-)
+++are you good at apologies? I'm not but my friend patty is fabulous at it+++

Today, I took a nap
I never nap... Never really been able to let my mind rest midday (minus the time I was an exchange student in costa rica and my brain needed sleep from translating all day) but after the weekend I've had I needed to rest.
A friend got into a fight with her husband and needed a place to stay while they worked it out - I offered up my couch. So Wednesday and Thursday nights I had a guest (ps I still hate people)
Friday after she went home another friend called and offered to sell me her car for a ridiculously low price for a really nice car - duh I said yes!!! Then I went to help another friend with her final paper (on a topic I know NOTHING about) hello brain overload.
Saturday morning came and I cleaned out the remainder of our storage unit (this is where we say body fatigue) then we had guests again who came up for the night to see hunger games (I have a post started on my thoughts of this)
Sunday was outfit shopping for what the hubs is wearing to their beach wedding in Jamaica then left their to go to another friend's house to do our annual after Easter egg hunt and then a late drive home. Which leads to today where I woke up late and took a nap and picked up HUBSTER'S new car (kinda) and took pupster and his BFF for a walk in the woods

Thursday bug - why do I pay taxes?
Courtesy of:
Laaneworld.blogspot.com
Here's where I tell you what's bugging me:
The fact that I not only pay excise taxes to drive on my town's roads but I also pay (insane) property taxes and for that I got to repair the road in front of my driveway (because the pothole was so deep it ripped the muffler off my 25 year old car - also known as 2012 the year I will not get a car break) myself because the town "never had time"
And here's where I ask
"what's buggin' you?"

Wordy Wednesday and I read
So, I've been reading the book sanctuary. It's about energy healing and AIM. It's evoking some "interesting" thoughts that I'll touch on soon. But for today here are some of my highlights
I found the talk of negative energies that might not have happened incredibly interesting - I have people in my life who, when my feelings are hurt by them, I sit back and say ------ person would NEVER mean to hurt me, how did they mean this? And sometimes it helps, sometimes not!
+++are you good at reframing your thoughts?+++

Thursday bug
So this is where I tell you what's bugging me:
Friends who joke about things I don't find funny. Case in point: a friend of mine who said she wished she had my OCD so her bathroom would be clean. Really? Because I think the fact that I think about the fact that I need to wash the shower while walking the dog, or shopping, or hanging with hubster is a-freaking-nnoying!

I am scentual
This weekend I popped on Facebook and saw a status from a friend (actually my interior designer) saying to home sellers (she's looking) to not use candles or sprays or cookies because it makes her think you're hiding something (she was also the stager of my old home and she said this to me a million times)
Fortunately, I'm not selling the wee house anytime soon.
I wake up every morning and I light incense in the bathroom and the living room. As the day goes on I have a bag of sprays I use. I like to start my day with invigorating musks and end it with peaceful florals.
I've started going walking around dusk because the scents of people out grilling dinner as I head out is fun and on our street (which is filled with cottages and people are very very laid back here) as I head home a few hours later there is always one or two bonfires going, that scent brings me home peaceful.
I pick my clothes and dish soaps carefully (and according to hubs hand soap shopping with me is painful) and none of this is to "hide" a scent but it is more to guide my day and mood.
I remember that I was first introduced to aromatherapy by auracacia http://www.auracacia.com/ at a trade show where I was working (and highly over stressed) I used clary sage http://www.auracacia.com/dspCmnPrd.php?p=t&cn=Clary%20Sage&ct=anpceoeo&i=p&br=Aura%20Cacia and without even realizing it started to relax. To this day I don't get on a plane without it :-)
Whiffs of perfume bring my grandmother (long passed) back to me -- ironically I don't know the brand, and am glad I don't I'd probably buy it and smell it all the time - somehow I think I'd lose her in the frequency. The rarity of walking by someone wearing it is what makes her/it more real.
Nicole's simple status was a reminder to me that FOR ME every one, every place has a spirit, a name (cue Pocahontas) and a scent.
+++are you scent triggered (or should I say activated?)+++

Microwave strawberry lemonade cake - bsi flour
So I'm quite enjoying bsi lately
this week biz mybizzykitchen.com chose flour as the ingredient.
I was excited! Hubs was excited we both assumed I'd make beer bread.
But then a strange and lovely thing happened, tony came over to help set up my garden. While he toiled in the soil (I rhyme) I made him a treat...
I started with this recipe http://eatingwelllivingthin.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/35-second-lemon-cake-in-a-cup/
But changed it (as I'm wont to do)
So it became this
Strawberry lemonade microwave cake (vegan)
2 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons corn starch (I have NO idea why I bought this)
Quick sprinkle of salt
2 tablespoons Splenda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons strawberry yogurt (mine is coconut based)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Spray a (cute) mug with cooking spray
In a small bowl mix dry ingredients add in wet ingredients (if you're like me be shocked because it looks just like the yogurt)
Pour into mug and microwave until set (my lame micro took 1 minute 45 seconds)
Because this was for company I put it on a plate if it were for hubster I'd have left it in the mug and handed him a fork...
I'm actually thinking of serving these to my in-laws for Easter dessert with a little home made ice cream :-) but instead of lemon I'll use cocoa powder and make chocolate covered strawberry mini mugs!
+++have you ever made a microwave cake? What'd you think of it if you did?+++

When did someone last knock on your door, and who was it?
KR last Wednesday when she came to visit
When did someone last call you on the phone, and who was it?
About an hour ago and it was Joey we were making our plans for tomorrow
When did someone last hand you a business card, and who was it?
Ooh Rick from the car dealership where we MIGHT get a car
When did someone last hand you a pen, magnet, calendar, or other trinket with his or her business info on it, and what was it?
A few weeks ago my realtor came over and she gave me a calendar for the fridge - it's tiny and I love it because it tells you all the holidays
When did you last get info out of a phone book?
Really? Probably on some vacation - ohhh yea I bet you last year when I took a solo vackay to the white mountains and my phone didn't get reception in the room!
+++do you still use phone books?+++

Friday ala Sunday
I got this bit of morning fun from:
http://f.riday5.com/
How well do you handle the sight of blood?
Pretty good UNLESS it's someone else's and going to get on me (why hello germophobe)
How well do you handle bumpy plane rides?
Let's go with I actually had a pilot (of a WAY to small plane) say that I made him nervous
How well do you handle spicy food?
I like spice just not food - ha!
How well do you handle (or think you could handle) yourself in fisticuffs?
Oh I'd get my ass kicked I have the slowest reflexes known to humankind
How well do you handle a chef’s knife?
Ummm, I've cut myself plenty but I'm still breathing so let's say good?
And in case you were wondering what I was doing this weekend apparently pupster and I are doing yoga!
+++what are (actually were is more like it) your weekend plans?+++

Pedicures, Instagram and Pasta - oh my!!!
So, bet you're wondering how I'm combining pedicures, instagram and bsi pasta? The story goes a little something like this:This week biz over at mybizzykitchen.com has pasta as her bsi (blogger secret ingredient) of the week. Hubster loves pasta (though not the shirataki noodles I have in the fridge) so I wanted in (like I said last week there is nothing I like more than joining in AND not having to be social). I wanted to make something that I've never made before... Enter my friend mr. Google I asked him to find me a sweet pasta recipe. He gave me this link:http://m.myrecipes.com/details/searchR.rbml?id=10000000665517.xml&bcat=search&cat=Search%20Result&fl=recipe/moms-best-noodle-kugel-10000000665517/Why thank you sir it was just what I wanted :-)Also this week both hubster and I both had our cars die! WTF car gods? Seriously! So back to my story... I woke up this morning and my first thought was today's the day for hubs kugel! My second thought was I have NONE of the ingredient list :-) and no car - guess I'll walk to the store (I love to walk and it's just over 2 miles each way - side note I will NEVER learn that when walking I should not buy ~30 pounds of groceries to haul home)My 3rd thought was WHY WHY WHY has the cold spring come back? I gave myself a kick ass pedicure earlier this week (Sally Hansen she sells sea shells as a base with a pumpkin spice glitter top FYI) and I wanna show my piggies off to the world! THIS is what I woke hubster up saying - he kindly checked them out (again) and told me they were the best feet ever!Forward to my (freaking frigid) walk and I look for the photo challenge of the day (in case it's something I'll see on my walk or in the store)... Would you believe it? It's feet! I get to show my pretty toes to the masses (or the 10 followers I have on instagram) after all! SCORE!!!Now, after I get back from the walk I set to making my version of the kugel above :-) I'm naming it kugelishKugelish (serves 1)INGREDIENTS:2 ounces dry egg noodles2.5 tablespoons low-fat blueberry yogurt1/4 cup low-fat cottage cheese 1 mounding tablespoon light cream cheese1 generous tablespoon Splenda 2 tablespoons egg whites1 overflowing tablespoon sugar (that's what's in the black and white container on the left)••can we take a moment to notice that I am apparently an ad for market basket••DIRECTIONS:Boil noodles according to package (mine were 8 minutes)In a bowl mix yogurt (you can use any flavor I'd say) through egg whites, then mix in egg noodles and pour this mixture into a prepared (by spraying with Pam (I used market basket's version - duh)) cooking vessel. I used a small pot.Now sprinkle with your sugar (I think this helps it brown and look pretty (ish) if you're not worried about that add more Splenda to the original mixture)Bake @ 350* for about 25 - 30 minutes (until the top browns a bit) This makes 1 generous breakfast serving or maybe 2 desserts. Hubster LOVED it and asked me to remember the recipe so... I'm calling this a success +++have you ever had kugel? And more importantly can I still call this kugel?+++
